Fun fact
Did you know I lived in New Zealand for a year?
I move to Wellington in 2015 to see how it was to live in an Island. New Zealand is where I first picked up my camera and thought I might actually be a photographer someday.
I fell in love with hiking and taking photographs of landscapes over there. This is definitely where my passion for outdoor elopements comes from!
When I left, I said I would be back before 10 years. Guess what?? This year has been 10 years and I am going back in 3 days (at the time writing this).
I really want to capture an elopement there someday. I visited ALL of New Zealand. When I say ALL, it is all! North, South, East, West, you name it! It would mean so much to me to be able to capture love in the country that gave me my two passions: Hiking and Photography. New Zealand feels like home to me.
There are some stunning hikes, single days or multiple days (Milford Track, Abel Tasman, Roy’s Peak, Routeburn Track, Kepler Track etc) that would be perfect for an intimate ceremony. I travelled all of the North Island and the South. Going in random places no one ever heard of to the most famous ones.
Imagine getting married on top of the Routeburn Track, a 3 days Great Walk hike. You can see the Tasman sea from the top on one side and you are surrounded by the mountains everywhere else. You can sleep in a tent or in of the the huts. Big bonus: The Routeburn track is in the middle of a dark sky reserve! Perfect for start watching and night photos 🙂
